WinMo 6 to WinMo 6.1

I've been on the xda development forum for a few days in search for answers. I'm wondering if I can use any 6.1 rom to update a 6.0 device as long as they are the same edition(standard or pro with same screen size/resolution).

I've read somewhere that it's possible to update roms specified to other device to your own, as long as the rom's original target specification match your device. There have been mixed results, but all are porting blackjackII(i617) 6.1rom to blackjack(i600), which is essentially are very similar device. Also, I have read that if I just download a clean kitchen, then replace my pda.bin into that rom and build. I would then have a rom build specific to my device, but it sounds way to easy.

Am trying to figure out if I can use a blackjack/blackjackII 6.1rom would work on a samsung i620. The i620 is similar to the blackjack, but not sure if it's as close to backjack vs blackjackII. Do any one know if that's possible or would it just brick my phone?
