Talking Finally meet my new baby O2 Atom Life

A strong reason why i was away from this forum for few weeks. I know 99% ppl hate Windows Mobile, but gathered a little bit courage to post this here, though this may not be relevent in this thread. Mods please dont mind.

Hi all folks finally I got my O2 Atom Life with Windows Mobile 6 Professional, few weeks before and was so busy these days admiring and showing it to my friends.
  • Intel XScale® PXA 270 Processor at 624 MHz (highest in ppc series, i may be wrong).
  • EDGE+3G+HSDPA,
  • World's only mobile operating system with IE with Flash7 plugin. It can show any latest FLASH 7 websites. Ming/iPhone/E7 or any other OS cannot show Flash websites. Dont tell me about flash player, its not plugin.
  • Two cameras, Front and Back (main) with LED FLASH. Most mobile Flashes are craps.. lol.
  • FM Radio with RDS and FM Radio Recording
  • Media Player with Multichannel Equalizer
  • Media Player with SRS WOW BASS BOOSTER with surround sound.
  • 1GB Builtin Memory
  • 64 Mb processing Memory.
  • Supports upto 8GB MiniSDHC Memory Card.
  • WIFI ( l love this )
  • Stereo Speakers with loud sound
  • 30FPS Video recorder and player which plays almost any type of video file.
  • Video Telephony Ready
  • Skype Ready.
  • Many many softwares already ready.
  • And yes....till now did not hang, windows update available from M$.
Most of above are strong reasons why I finally bought it. If anyone interested about more features can see SPECIFICATION SHEET here at >>>
http://www.mwg.com/xda-atom-life_specifications.aspx

Except front (second) camera, all the features are outstanding. Main camera is so cool, it captures clear still images even if you are in high-speed vehicle. I tried to take few shots from running car and every shot was clear and bright. Now I feel like holding a man-thing. Never had this feeling with cute sexy shape of Ming. he he he.

I have not sold my previous love Ming anyways. My wife still uses it, as she can easily use it. But she hates Touchscreen/Stylus thing. Women will be women. Lol. But she likes other features of Ming. Of course Ming is Ming and O2 Life is O2 Life. I can do more with it now.

Edit: HEY WAIT! I am not saying Goodbye to this forum ok? Ming is still with me, so I am around, just though to inform why I was away for few weeks.

Mahendra

Thanks for so big compliment LOLZ

See spec page of both for thickness. trust me its not annoying for size...

MING is 21.5 mm
Atom LIFE is 18 mm

106(L) x 58(W) x 18(T) mm
Weight with battery: 145g

Only 1 cm taller than ming. This is most lightweight and optimum in size in PPC series and slips very easy in pocket, thats why they call it Pocket PC. A mighty thing with all latest features we always wanted in Ming ver 2.

Dont know how many others will kick my ass.

Edit: With Bluetooth, JAVA, Even my 8yr kid can connect this Device as modem to my laptop and starts browsing. Its a single button called "INTERNET SHARING", click it and laptop is on net. No extra softwares required.

Got it at $570 with bill and warranty, which is exact $100 more than the cost of Ming in Feb2007 when I bought. Featurewise its much much more cheaper than Ming.

MS OFFICE MOBILE WITH WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT AND OUTLOOK WITH PUSHMAIL.

This inbuilt and tested PushMail feature does not drain battery like Morange or other thirdparty software which kills our phone in 2/3 hours or in the middle of the day.

Sorry telling features one by one as and when I am remembering them. Options and softwares on web are endless.

Very nice!

I am too migrating to WM. At first I was looking at HTC Tytn II, but I was a little worried about the screen, which is too big and has a very low resolution. Lack of decent video drivers also worried me.

Until SE came and announced this marvel called Xperia X1, with its almost stupid 800x480 screen. That's 5x more pixels than Ming or most phones on the market.

I know it costs $1000 in pre-order and might cost even more when it launches, but hey, you get what you pay for.

Lizzo, Ming has 48 MB of RAM. Careful not to confuse storage with RAM.

hi lizzo, everyone will be greatful if you delete all the large quoted text from your reply.

According to my limited knowledge, I am dumb , Ming stores OS (BootROM) on EPROM IC and uses 8mb flash memory for end-user. I may be wrong, and its not a big deal for me. The most of the specification sheets spread on web, also say Ming have 8mb Internal Memory. Someone please inform us, If you have more information about it, everyone will appreciate. Thanks in advance

Additionally see these spec-sheets too.

1) http://www.motorola.com.hk/eng/motom.../full_spec.ASP

2) Click on USER AND SERVICE MANUALS/A1200 Schematics in Sticky up above there.

or google with "Ming Specifications"

EDIT: Lizzo you are answered by SManiac
