It is being developed by the same group who did the e680/a780 etc. Looks great. I hope to get an early version to play with...I will post a review when I get one.

Yes, but does it run Linux?

wowfinally the missed JSR82 (bluetooth java implementation) and so lot bluetooth profiles
good camera, second display (but i dont like flip phones)
but no touchscreen and not much memory
perhaps a new version of something like the e680 is coming in future, too?
according to mobileburn, it uses motorola's own new linux system: juix
hmm. maybe they just used montavista in their first linux phones to get some knowledge and experience of linux on phones.
Yes, but does it run Linux?
yup and to test the market
as of now, there is not a single screenshot of the ui available. hopefully it uses x11![]()
actually there are, look for y-cyas's thread in the other phones forum. I think the chance of it using x11 is about 0.00001% though
Yes, but does it run Linux?
Using X11 isn't very cool on embedded devices as it's not created for. QT Embedded was specifically developed for small computer devices and doesn't need such huge ressources as X11.
On my ipaq I used the familiar distri (a long time ago) and it is based on X11. Don't believe we can use the whole app stuff with X11 on embedded systems. U have to change almost anything: Form size, strings, ... otherwise it is only very partly usable.
But if they use their own System I'm afraid they even deny any system access and linloader and such scripts would may be not work anymore.
