I get downloading speed of 80 kb/sec at day time which gets close to 1.5 mbps after 11 at night for 500 Rs pm.
But these s/w which promise to increase downloading speed never helps me.

If you ask me BSNL still is a very fine service except for its outages.
What I like about Airtel is the download speed. I download a lot of operating systems and hence the speeds suit me.

@MM, i've tried Flashget but was not satisfied with it.

IDM has better integrity and has nice jesture. For me IDM is the best. Try IDM on your system with connections set to 16.

By the way, 8 MBits/sec (1 Byte = 8 Bits, so 8 MBits = 1 MBytes) is really great though.

I think u should get around 1 MBytes of Download Speed (Transfer Rate). It means u could download a 100 MB file at less than 1.5 Minutes. lol!!

Upload speeds differs isnt it?

@ADDU If it is 1.5 MBits/Sec then schedule those files at night and when u wake up in the morning all the files should be waiting for u. Using those i hope u will create a breathtaking theme for us.

You can have animated signatures as well.

Like I said , people may have different opinions but Flashget has been an old player into this and the only download manager that supported splitting files for the first time.

Anyways , what works for you , will do it for you

Upload speed is around 1/3rd of the download speed.
