Hi

Advantages of E8 ( as I could make out from the description in that China website)
1. The keypad design is brilliant. Because, it not a LCD screen displaying keys as some body said, but actual keys below the glass. Depending on the application the corresponding keys will be lit. The advantage of this is that the keys will be visible irrespective of the direct light falling on it and still gives the flexibility that is offered by a LCD screen displaying keys according to application, i.e music keys for music, normal jeys for others.
2. A new concept called Omega wheel has been introduced (quite similar to the ipod format I fell though ), where you can scroll through menus, move through songs, fast forward videos etc.
3. The screen is a horizontal 4:3 format, which means you don't have to tilt the phone to watch full screen video.
4. It has a 2GB internal card and also SD card slot for upto 32GB. The best of both worlds.
5. Its based on the Linux platform like RAZR V8 etc... so lots of customization and modding possible.
6. The holes that you see in the keypad looks like the positional indicators of the keys. So I guess it would help in pressing keys without looking at them like in normal keys.
7. Haptics is incorporated, so u feel like you are touching a real key as a tactile feedback is provided.
8. I think Crystal Talk would also be there, as all recent phones are having. If its there it would improve call quality tremendously.

Disadvantages:
1. Screen is a bit small compared to ROKR E6.
2. No 3G or HSDPA (not a major disadvantage)

Overall its an evolutionary phone over ROKR E6 with some revolutionary features see for the first time on a mobile phone like the unique keypad, the Omega wheel and the two large memories.

I would definitely go for this phone!

Have you actually used this phone? Or is this review based on specs you've seen.

A review is basically when you have held the phone, and tested out its features, which is highly improbable unless you're in Bangalore and work for Motorola assuming you are from India, so I think your topic titile must be changed(unless you have actually reviewed it, then pictures will be required as proof). Also you stated it has a max card capacity of 2GB which is false information, it supports upto 32GB, it has an SDIO slot.

Evolutionary??? I think "not".
Is there a touch screen? No
Is there 3G? No
Is there a AF camera? No
Does it have in independant music processor? No
Is the processor faster? Yes
Does it have more RAM? Probably the same or less
Is it a PDA? No

So how exactly is this an evolution?

Sorry for the wrong title! I guess it should not be called a review. But what I meant by evolutionary is what u r saying. A product is revolutionary if there are drastic changes from a previous version, and evolutionary if there are improvements. So I stick by what I said, most features are evolutionary while 1 or are indeed revolutionary and first on a mobile phone.

LOL.......the E8 is not even in the same league as the E6, its an upgrade to the L9. Just because its an "E" does'nt make it an upgrade to the E6. The E9 is a PEBL shaped phone, would you consider that an upgrade to the E6? It maybe evloutionary, but not with respect to the E6. How can tocuh sensitive buttons replace a touch screen. It is evolutionary with regards to the E398.....L7......L7i.....L9 etc... but not the E6. The platforms are different, thats LJ ver 7.1 we are using EZX. The E8 does'nt even have a task manager, nor appointments on stand by screen, its got a fixed focus camera, its a step down in so many aspects so how exactly is it evolutionary when compared to the E6. Its like saying the V8 or Z6 is an evolution of the E6 which is a laugh. According to me this post is as good as spam. Serves no purpose.

"Motorola Rokr E8" already has "Motorola Rokr E8 Engineering Version" in the market with same design; how come you said "photoshopped".

"Motorola Rokr E8" focus for music and unique keypad. Is not fair if you comparison with other features. Look "Nokia 7900 Prism"; nothing special, just for unique keypad and that's truly female dog and really ugly phone ever.

i think the Nokia 7900 Prism is more ugly than the E8.. the prism looks really plastic..
