Help with Motorola V505 - it Stuck in hand-free mode

I have a old Motorola V505 which I used as back up when my other phone battery is dead or on charge. I have a problem with it. When I call any phone I cannot hear the phone ringing or hear the person on the other end when it answers. However if I use the ear piece I hear everything fine or if I put it on speaker phone after it is answered. It works fine on in-coming calls. I think it is stuck on hand-free mode. How do I switch it to handset communication, or handset mode.
