RAZR2 V8 vs ROKR E6

I'm going to buy a Motorola Linux phone mostly because some really nice applications are available for this platform, like the GBA emulator. I am choosing between RAZR2 V8 and ROKR E6.

But somehow, very few downloads are available for V8. Is it just because it's newer, or there is any real problem with writing custom apps for this phone?

Does anyone know which phone is faster (as far as UI and running apps)?

Besides the form factor, the touchscreen, and the internal vs expansion card memory, are there are any other differences between V8 and E6?

The V8 has 512MB of internal memory as well as a faster processor. The E6 runs on an older Linux platform but is compatible with expandable memory, a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a bigger screen. it's your choice. If you prefer functionality, music, and modding over design and looks, then get the E6.

512 or 2GB of internal memory - depends on the market. In Brazil there's only the 2GB model, and IIRC the T-Mobile USA one is the 2GB model also.

But you are saying that if I prefer functionality and modding, I should choose E6. Why is that? Doesn't a newer Linux platform and a faster CPU allow more, not less, functionality and mods??

Also, if I buy the V8, I'll look for one with 2 GB internal memory, so the lack of the expansion slot is not really a problem -- I hope.

V8 (and Z6, and any MOTOMAGX phone for that matter) modding is still on its infancy.

Z6 also has expandable memory.

Surprised that V8 doesn't have it (given that V9 does and that the other MOTOMAGX phones do). Most likely a business decision rather than a technical decision (unless they ran out of room to fit slot in there

There is plenty room for a removable Memory card in a V8, but that space is taken now by the 2GB iNAND chip, which is actually bigger then a TF card would be. Purely business decision as I bet that Motorola will release a "follow up" of the V8 with a removable TF card slot.

there is a program calle "finger pad" that let u txt like a T9 keypad.. it makes the phone even greater
