Trolltech will supply an SDK (software development kit) for native application development on Motorola's Linux-based phones, and Motorola will promote and distribute the SDK at no cost, the companies said. The SDK is based on Trolltech's Qtopia Core development framework, which underpins Motorola's Linux phone stack.

I just bought a new motorola phone-v8,
and now I will enjoy the really smartphone with it's open sources,the native Linux,which makes me very excited.
I love moto,and I will keep in this way!

If this ever happens, its going to be locked down.
The chances of any major manufacturer releasing a phone that isn't locked down in some way (i.e. one where you have access to 100% of phone features through open SDK with no restrictions) is almost zero because the phone carriers (who want to protect their revenue from VoIP, full IM, voice-IM, video-IM etc) wont allow it.
