I think it brings some minor fixes in OS stability and also the Opera browser seems to be some kind of fixed, because before it closed when I wanted to type into an text field (with Chinese FW it even wasn't showing pictures at all). Now it's OK. In comparison with the Chinese FW (besides the improvements such as multi-shot mode of camera or vibe & ring) the music player works a way faster and the external keys get locked even if the player is on. That's all I've noticed so far.

And I must say that this is the best FW so far... Hope the 80.44 will be ready soon.

I am new, thanks for your patience. I have the V8 2gig t-mobile locked. I am waiting for an unlock code from T-mobile. If I upload the firmware you have listed here will my phone become locked again?

No, it won't. Anyway - if you have this 2GB version there's no need to flash this "old" FW version since there's the newer one for 2GB version only (look here). It should work, if it doesn't just flash this older one.

Thanks Wizard for the reply! For a follow up:

1. What are the advantages for me to do this? My V8 is straight from T-Mobile

2. My V8 is locked to T-Mobile - I'm waiting for them to send me an unlock code. If I flash now then will I still be able to unlock it with the code T-Mobile provides?

3. Are there applications for this phone where I could access root folders (a:\ for example) to mod like I could with my V3? P2kCommander and P2kTools don't seem to work. I just want to remove the T-Mobile stuff.
