    Default Using the front Screen

    Hi

Is there more option except changing the ring tones for the front screen. Can you use the front screen to read in coming messages or accessing music.

    Thanks

    yes, and yes.

you can read incoming text messages on the outer screen. as well as use the music player (although you have to start it first and then close the phone)

Thanks but for the text messages. I had two new ones and all it said on the screen was that I had two new messages. And the only option on the screen was the OK. I had to open the screen to read them.

since there is no way to scroll through your message inbox it seems that if more than a message comes through unopened, you can only view them by opening the flip. mind you, messages from your service provider cannot be read on the outer screen

I was very dissapointed that the touch sensitive buttons on the front are only for the music player - almost redundant on a device of only 420Kb.

I bet that the screen will be hacked beyond belief. It's just a matter of time until someone is able to get in the right file and add functions.
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...

Anyone have modded it for more functions?

The tool to do the job has been out for some time now, it is the Flexbit-Editor, which will edit the ezx_flexbit.cfg file in the CG43 which you could see as the flex of the V8 firmware. Also you could see the ezx_flexbit.cfg file as seems which we know from the Synergy phones.
It is possible, and guides on how to do this are around, to extract that ezx_flexbit.cfg file from the CG43, edit it and create a new CG43 which then can be flashed back onto the V8.
So, the tools are there, the way on how to do it has been shown, but still nobody (except one or two) is doing it. !!??!!
    Why?
It's new, there are no references like what flexbit does what (no surprise if nobody tries it) and it is "Trial and Error" testing, which is not what 99.9% of V8 users want to do (I know this because I asked for help using the same technique to identify S4M ID's with just 1 feedback and zero result).
So, you 99.9% just sit back and wait ...... and wait ....... maybe one day in the future you could read about how to enable the odd feature or function.
I know how easy it is to make "bla, bla bla..." and you rightly might say why don't I start with it then. Unfortunately, modding is still a hobby that I do in my spare time, hence I have not a lot of that and that bit spare time I have I can fill that easily with other V8 related stuff.

Nothing is impossible, only miracles take a bit longer !
240x320 skins are for everyone, but I am not!
