  1. #1

    Default V8 USB connection problem

I have no problem connecting my V8 through all those four USB mode in windows. But I just cant made it possible to connect the V8 to my laptop running on Mandriva Linux 2007 Spring, not even the mass storage mode.

Could anyone provide me a solution ?

    Help also required.

I cannot get my V8 to connect via USB when installing and running Moto Phone Tools.

No updates are available as I have the latest version out of the box.

I have a new laptop, well specced running Win XP Pro.

1.) set your V8 USB mode to Modem
2.) connect your V8 through USB cable
3.) remember not to close the front flip or your V8 may not be detected

Thanks very much, I had the V8 set to media sync which appeared to be the problem.

patch to your linux kernel will do, you need to edit some files then recompile your linux.
and this is not the standard.
mine was also same case with you, but after i patched, i can connect then mounted it.

    Hi,

The same problem here. I get to see, when I plug my V8 in:

    1- Nothing. No response.

    2- Connecting-Connection Made-Connection Closed-Connecting-Connection Made-Connection Closed-... (continious repeating...) Eventually; Nothing.

3- It wil recharge, while it's on memory device mode. So, Nothing.

I get nothing. Unless... I open phone tools, and each time, let it detect my V8, and reconfigure it. Any solutions?

    Thanks,

    Uranus

I have done all of this but still can't get the computer to recognize the motorola usb drivers. It will say in the pop up at the bottom of screen motorola usb modem, but will not go to the install stage. I have tried a number of combination with not luck. It is getting very frustrating.

I've discovered another USB connection problem!

It happend not so long ago. I wanted to listen to music via headphone. When I plugged it in, my phone suddenly froze. It didn't response. I couldn't power off. When I closed it (clamshell close), you could see that the motorola logo also froze, and was hanging upside down. The only way I could've turn it off, was to pull out the battery. Anyone had this situation before? Could it be, because of an early firmware bug?

    Thanks,

    Uranus

I have finally got MPT installed on my laptop. It had never had an install of MPT, while the other two computers had. I once had it installed for the A1200, but uninstalled it from both computers. It is obvious that the uninstall doesn't remove all traces of the install. Is there a way or a program that goes through every location and removes all tracks from MPT and the drivers?
    Thanks!!
