Good news for the linux/development community
I recently found out that the RAZR2 does include a card registry file in the memory card. And for those who are familiar with EZX and JUIX phones that means its very possible to create simple designing QT apps for it.

IIRC E2 has MPKG... so I believe porting MPKG from E2 to V8 is the wayOriginally Posted by ycyas

I hope we can get some different "skins" available for these phones.
I dont know why moto still insists on using solid right/left soft key selection bars on the home screen still.
Oh and this is my first post here, but I am a regular at HoFo.
Thanks Alpha for giving me the link.
haha, i am wondering if V8 can be as expandable as E6 / E680i...etc
Now that you have the V8, you will be a regular here as well.Originally Posted by Baldilocks
i highly recommend you to look throughout the website so that you learn about these systems and what they can do.

So Alpha, is there a specific location on this board OR on the web where I can read more about this Linux/Java OS ??
I tried searching on here but most of the stuff i see is in regards to the EZX platform, Synergy or Symbian, and UIQ.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
I suggest looking at the development sections. Keep in mind that the EZX phones are very similar in the way we will hack/program for the phone. The V8 will eventually have a translated MPKG installer, and then thats when the fun begins.Originally Posted by Baldilocks
P.S- i will forward some links here soon so that new members and other people who dont know about linux phones can read about it.

I know a bit about my V3x and my Maxx, but JuiX is totally new for me.
Luckely I have a basic understanding of Linux OS, but I am NOT a programmer. The closest was batch file editing in DOS 3.3.
Nothing is impossible, only miracles take a bit longer !
240x320 skins are for everyone, but I am not!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but JUIX can install unsigned MPKG apps. The E2 didn't require MPKG to install PKG apps...
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...
