def alpha! I can't wait to get my E2 back here (maybe tomorrow) and I'll put up a very simple MPKG app. It's called ExcludeRing. What it will do is hide your ringtones (provided it's the same file structure as the E2). So that way they don't show up in your MP3 list . Has anyone tried the file://localhost in the browser yet?? If so this will help me out Tremendously!

If this phone is as moddable as the other JUIX and EZX phones are, then expect one to come to your friendly neighborhood IAHG near you!
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...

The base needed to hack this phone is to be ability to telnet. Unfortunately only proto-types had telnet already enabled. But this of course does not mean that it cant be done.. I am thinking if i should get another proto-type for the sake of the community and try to leech the usb-net option from the proto-type and make a hybrid firmware of retail/proto firmware.

I connected my V8 to Debian64 (lenny) and it get detected perfect, then when the "USB Setting" is set to "Media Sync" a window pops up telling me a media device has been detected and is mounted under /media/camera, followed by a error message that the files could not be read (I have squashfs module in the kernel), but I guess the user partition is not in squashfs.
There are a lot of options in the USB Settings as to what you want the V8 being connected.
If you select "Memory Device" and connect it to Windoze you have the User partition (420 MB or 2GB) added as a Removable Drive in Explorer.

Nothing is impossible, only miracles take a bit longer !
240x320 skins are for everyone, but I am not!
