can i know what's the different between V3x and V3xx???
the v3xx has a 1.3 megapixel cam, v3x has 2mp, the main difference is that the xx has support for hsdpa networks... And the xx looks like a regular v3.

The V3xx is out yet, but only in Italy (http://www.motorola.com/consumer/v/i...vgnextnomenu=1) and Germany as I heard around. Well, yesterday I bought it and, even if I'm new to Motorola phones, I think it's a good mobile. I've tried to connect to the Internet through the cellular and my Mac and it works. Even if iSync on Mac it doesn't recognize it, I found an useful tool to modify XML code of iSync and now it works good even with Address Book and iCal on MacOS X. The battery has a very long life. The only bad thing is the brand of my phone with Italian career TIM.. unfortunately there are not new no-brand firmware around, but I hope so very soon. Ooops, I forgot.. this is the phone: http://www.motorola.com/Hellomoto/IT...Main_30637.gif It seems a V3i, but I think it has a new good redesign of it, and it's in aluminium. It's available in black and orange too.. I got the black one.
Let me know if you will know how to update V3xx firmware.. thank u!![]()
well main reason why v3xx is faster in that benchmark is that it has better hardware acceleration for the Nvidia goforce 4800 chip, this time around its been optimized for java and other uses while in the v3x the chip was mainly optimized for the camera, lol its true, running the same java app on my motorola ming and my v3x the v3x was alot slower, im not sure how the v3xx when it comes to java apps but should be better
I have a V3xx, just bought it last week, great phone for my needs, and very fast.
One thing it won't do that I really would like is to give a 3rd party Java application access to the camera so that application can do what it's supposed to do ... capture an image. Details follow, for any who might be interested or, be still my heart, have an idea how to solve this access problem.
The application is qode(r), which for anyone who might want to simulate this problem can be found at qode.com, or via your cellphone browser at get.qode.com. The V3xx is not on the compatible handsets list as being a phone that the qode Reader will work on, and at the moment that is the problem. However, the website did allow to me to download and install the version of qode which is compatible with V3x, and the qode(r) Window part of the program works fine on the V3xx, i.e., I can type in the numbers below a barcode on a product and many times be taken to a website with relevant information about that product.
Anyway, when attempting to use the qode Reader component, it starts off fine, the camera fires up and I can see the camera's view on the screen, but when it is time to "click" on an image, the following message appears on the screen: "Camera access denied. Please allow qode to use the camera", or something to that effect.
I know Cingular is funny about allowing 3rd party Java apps do their thing, but as I said, part of the app works fine.
The qode people say: "This inability to access the camera application is due to restrictions with the operating environments already installed on the handset through the manufacturer."
That would be Motorola.
I have spoken with Motorola tech support and at first blush they didn't have a ready fix. I knew it probably wouldn't be as simple as changing a setting on the phone, but one can hope, eh? They said my issue will be forwarded to engineering, and in fact the tech support guy I was talking to went online to check out the qode app and was very interested in it.
So, that's all I know. Anyone here have a great, simple, non-phone-bricking method of allowing this Java app to use the camera and go so far as to let the camera capture an image to be used by the app?
Thanks!
