Am Unlocking my V3 but ran into a hic-up & need help

Hi, I am new here. I was in the middle of unlocking my V3 Miami ink Motorola cell phone when I ran into a snag. I am not able to extract the .shx file that I need to extract. I get a pop-up telling me that:
To open this file windows needs to know what program you want to use to open it. It then tells me that I can have Windows go online and look it up but when I have it do that it comes back empty handed. It doesn't find anything. It also says I can manually select from what I have on my computer. I have tried a few things but none worked. I really didn't have a clue where to start. If I understand it correct it has to do with 3D issues.... Does anyone know what an alternative file type might be?

does anyone know where I could download the .shx so I can continue the unlock process on my V3 cell phone? I really need your help ASAP please...
I don't know if anyone needs this info in order to help me, but my computer is a Windows vista and I use cable for my internet service.
