Rumor has it that this is actually the UTStarcom "Knick". (Renamed from one lame marketing name to another). UTStarcom has, in the past, used Linux to power its phones. (Google UTStarcom DV007).
So it is possible, that at least at some level this is running Linux. I would sure like to know, and the GPL police may want to research this further too.
