hi i have been using motorokr e6 ,just came to know about skins n themes

kindly help me in the following :
1 what is this skin n theme all about?
2 how to install them?
3 can they be uninstalled easily,do they harm or affect phone in any manner?
4 can the original setting can be installed again?

please while replying keep in mind that i have no idea about this at all
