hmm.. it looks nice but why is it in Java? that will need lots of cpu power and the battery gets flat quickly..
they or phone producers should programm it natively.
Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD
It's a J2ME User Interface (UI) class like a J2ME Polish that help developer to create a MIDlet (Java app on mobile) with beautiful UI. but It's a commercial ware not like J2ME Polish that GPL.

so when wud it be available for download?
I hope this helps some of your guys in regards to this iPhone interface. I contacted TWUIK to try and see how we could get a copy. This was my reply from them. I wondering if a large community such as motorolafans would qualify as a large businessAnyhow maybe some of the developers here might like to send in your CVs? I'm afraid my Java skillz aren't good enough for something like that even though I'd love to work on TWUIK.
Hi Justin,
Thanks for your interest in TWUIK.
I am afraid that currently there is only a Business Agreement License for
TWUIK sold to medium/large size companies, We are hoping to release a
Community Developer License in which individuals such as yourself will be
able to benefit and contribute to TWUIK development.
I apologise for not being able to service your request at this time but hope
to serve you better in the near future. However I see that you have an
interest in J2ME development, we at Tricastmedia are currently looking for
bright J2ME developers to work for us.
If you feel this would be a good opportunity for yourself you are more than
welcome to send over your CV along with information about yourself why you
would be suitable to work for Tricastmedia in the field of J2ME Development.
Best Regards,
Shahid Pervez

yeah lets move...
our Java master could join to develope this stuff for us.
be a Linuxer...Go MotoLinux
I have absolutely no interest in this... It's just an eye candy java app, nothing more than that...
who is Java Master here? I think little ppl here create a j2me app. the main reason is It's have many restrict permissions. an It's took a large or man-power to create one j2me app like in www.getjar.com
but I think It's good idea to port some app from QT/C++ into j2me. coz It can use in next phone release with out EZX SDK. coz i think we can't get EZX SDK from moto. and after A1200 J2ME app use a beautiful widget not like in A780/E680/i that use very ugly.
I try to learn J2ME. but still a dummy for it. and I doesn't work in IT or programing field. so what can i do with my CV. hahaha.

yeah, i agree its an eye candy, but when it actually comes, it will be very popular indeed.
shivam, it is not clear when it will be available for download, but like most other good things in the world, it will come with a good price tag.i don't think there will be a trial version for it.
OK Lets take a look what the expert comments are on it:
While browsing through the intarweb I've found this very eye-catching article on a graphic library for mobile phones supporting Java (probably more specifically MIDP). I played the movie and I was quite surprised with what this library can actually do in terms of UI richness, visual feedback and so on.
What still remains to be seen is how easy it is to develop using this library to get this level of UI.
When I tried to look for more information on this library all I found is a link to Tricastmedia, the company developing this graphic library, where there was a page with information on TWUIK, what it is, how it's built and more.
I was expecting to see something like a download link, but after that I realized it's not a free/OS software but rather a commercial one. "Fine" I thought to myself, "let's see how much it costs", which got me to the 'Buy' link at the top of the page. Instead of a welcoming product page with a buying option I found myself again with short descriptions of their product, and not even a buying option. I was advised to contact their sales person over e-mail.
In the past few years, many software products have risen and fallen over their licensing models and their marketing and sales forces, and from what I can see TWUIK is/will be one of them.
Even though the library itself is quite amazing, the licensing model is rather a nightmare, not to mention that prices are nowhere to be found on the site, and you have to contact their sales person to get a quote. There goes the transparency I was getting used to these days and age.
One other thing worth mentioning is that even if Tricastmedia will solve their licensing and sales problems, the life expectancy of this product from what I can see is 2-3 years tops. Once more sophisticated Java technologies like MIDP 3 and JSR 290 (CDF Bindings for Java ME) come into play, this kind of technology will be obsolete. Might be bad for the Tricastmedia, but very good for developers all over the world.
