MotoRizr Z8 connet to Ubuntu box

Hi. I've just bought the Z8, and now I'm trying to connect it with my laptop running Ubuntu 7.1, and I'm thinking along the lines of kmobiletools.
First of all the PC can't locate the phone via the USB cable, so I can't set the path for the device in /dev.
I can however find the phone via. bluetooth, but from here I have no idea what to do. I've read several guides on connecting phones via bluetooth and getting it to work with kmobiletools, but it simply doesn't work for me...
Anyone with suggestions/solutions. Any help is appreciated

Connect the USB cable to the computer and then the cable to the Z8. You should then have three choices on the Z8 screen - select PC Connect.
