Motorola milestone volume key not working

Hello MOTO fans.
Am relatively new to this forum. I have a Motorola Milestone since few months and its out of Warranty now. My volume lowering key ain't working.
I have been to the service center but the spare for the volume flex strip is out of stock.
I just wanted to know whether there is any alternate button to raise or lower the volume or any method to program any key to act as volume rocker. Pls help

man i've got the lamest luck here. . now even my power button has stopped working.
My phone is on since two day. The day it goes off then i can't switch it on without the power button repaired. for the keypad unlocking am using the slide out. keypad.

i have installed button remapper app and using it i hav switched my camera button to function as power button. so am able to screen lock and unlock using camera key. Now my doubt if when my phone gets swtiched off will it power on using the camera button. Some one help me on this.

no it won't for sure ...
as the button mapper will work when phone is in powered on state it won't configure the Android kernel or the device to use the camera key as power key

I have repaired my phone finally. Now the Power key and also the volume rocker are working fine. But the total damage was almost Rs2500/- which i think is quiet costly. Nokia Service costs are a lot cheaper.

no it will not power on with camera button you will need to use power burron to power on the phone and there is no other way to power on
