What is wrong with the USB?

Hey guys!
So every time I connect the xt720 with the computer using the USB, nothing happens, After i go the application and activate the USB debugging mode while the USB still connected, the USB icon appears on the bar at the top of the phone screen. after I click on the bar, none of the options (Portal & Tools, Windows media Sync, Memory Card Access or Charge only) work. Not only that, Even after I remove the USB from the cellphone, The Icon does not disappear, I donno what is wrong!
Please help!

I assume its the problem of the computer, The USB works fine with other computers!

It started working, but only if my laptop is not connected to the college wifi!
Anyways, mod, u may delete this thread if needed, I'll look for a solution and will be ready for support for other users if required!
