    @shantanu
BIG THANKS TO YOU FOR LINKING THE MISSING GAP in my rooting process.
I successfully took NANDROID BACKUP with OpenRecovery 1.14 and also could ROOT the phone.

WOW FEEL GREAT TO HAVE ROOTED the phone, though I yet dont know how much I can exploit from my rooted milestone. Is there any good thread where we get listing of all the applications or modifications we can do on rooted MileStone?

1_ if you use RSD lite 4.6 you dont need to put the phone in bootloader
2_ the update.zip for this thread is outdated there is a new one in openrecovery much nicer...

3_ What was wrong on the previous guide I gave you ?
First step IS to flash the vulnerable recovery ....

    I can't understand what's wrong...
I have an italian Milestone 2.1 with last IT's sbh SHOLS_U2_02.38.0 and boot loader 90.73.

I'm able to correctly flash the vulnerable recovery sbh, but when I try to get into

    Code:
    Bootloader
    90, 74
    Err:A5,69,35,00,2F

    Battery OK
    OK to program
    Connect USB
    Data Cable
I've tryed with different vulnerable sbh, as well as with win7-64bit and winXP-32bit.

    ....Any ideas?

I'm able to boot the phone as usual, but not to get into recovery mode.
I'm also able to flash other sbf on the top, but the only one that let me enter in the recovery mode is the retail one; all the other that I tryed make me impossible to get into recovery mode.
The problem is that if I can get into recovery mode with the retail sbf flashed on my phone, i'm not able to run any update.zip file since they are not signed... then I have no way for hack my phone

Hi , sorry for the late reply .. you can look at the in the 'news' thread there is an 'alternative method to root pretty much any Android phone . I havent test it but it does work onthe milestone .

Bu I am still confused as to why you cant flash the vulnerable recovery , I suppose you have tried pretty much all obvious solution like redownloading the vulnerable recovery reflashing an standard 2.00 sbf file ( witch is vulnerable in the first place ...

Sorry I forgoto to reply also in this forum...
I solved my problem in this way

then, I got bootloader SBF from here
    Bootloaders SBF

    Here what I've done:
First I've tried flashing v.90.73 bootloader again but I got the same problem, same also with 90.74, but finally with 90.78 I was able to get into the Recovery menu, and since I found another very usefull sbf from GOT team that already includes the vulnerable recovery now I'm able to directly install any update.zip from my sd card, without reflashing the vulonerable sbf each times.

hey just so you know I removed 2 of your link to avoid confusion , I should have realized whatyour issue was form the start here is the correct thing to do in case anyone else has the same problem , granted one of got's f/w is a good alternative but the true way to fix this bug is this :
E:EOCD marker occurs after start of EOCD E:signature verification failed" error means that the vulnerable recovery has not been flashed successfully.
It seems that the key to successful recovery flash is to not let the phone to boot to android or recovery until the RSD Lite will signal PASS. When the RSD Lite is restarting the phone during flash, hold the D-Pad Up, so the phone enters the bootloader again immediately.
all thx to nadlabak ( original person who made the vulnerable recovery in the first place .)

    _Power off phone
_hold camera key and power buton at the same time until you see the motorola logo
_once you get the triangle with the ! in the middle hold camera button and hit volume up key (a few times) at the same time until menu shows up
    _choose apply update.zip .
    _Reboot phone
_go in application and make sure yo have the 'superuser whitelist in there .

    Voila you are done .

It is said that you might get an error while flashing ( I did NOT )
If you do just flash again .
