Hi everybody, like everybody i too thought creating a transparent GNB effect was not possible.....still went on trying & finally made one for my favorite theme......
THINGS REQUIRED:
1.Adobe Photoshop (CS5 ) (recommended)
[or] Gimp [or] any other good graphic editor.
Here are the steps which i followed:
1. Choose a background,i took this one:
![]()
2. I decided to have 50% transparency in my phone ('Wonder Moto' will help).
3. So, opened up this wallpaper in Photoshop. And created a new image of resolution 240X320, which is entirely black.
4. Then in the new black image, i set its opacity to be 50% and placed this wallpaper exactly on the black image, so as to get the same kind of image (background) when i set 50% transparency in my phone and let this new image be 'IMAGE 1'. ( 'Image1' is in 'SOURCES' below.)
5. Now i took the 4 GNB icons and again with the help of photoshop, made thos GNBs' opacity also to 50%.
6. Then, i pasted these GNB icons in 'IMAGE 1'.
7. Similarly i took the 'Sbar_background.g.gif' file and made its opacity to be 50% and placed it in 'IMAGE 1' .
When i completed pasting GNB and Sbar, it looked like this:
8.Then i cropped each GNB to with 60X45 and Sbar with 240X26 as resolutions and used in my theme.
But the only thing is,my edited Sbar is not working, but the original Sbar is only shown after theme installation. I still doubt that it is not working only for me, but any of you please try and report your feedback ! Please post any of your views for Sbar here !
