Noob in Theme making. (E6)

I want to make new theme for my E6.I read Guide by eakrin.
But i didn't understand much. I D/L tools req for theme making like edit plus,Active pearl.
i don't know from where to start .
Do i must need preloaded skin to make new skin?
Can i use already modded skin as base for new skin?
.lin script didn't work in my phone.(open with which prog.)
plz upload any preloaded skin of E6.

You have started by getting the essentials

Both are fine, you will see more icons in the preloaded iconrez.ezx

linloader, it comes with the latest version of mpkg (not really new since we've been using it for a few months now)

plz upload any preloaded skin of E6.

Use this link. keep it in the root of the card, and open with linloader. The skins will be copied to your memcard

Start with the skn and go from there. that is the real background of your skin, not the icons.
Dont use paint for editing the files.
The .skn file has blank areas, make sure you dont change these.
Use realworld icon editor and photoshop.

Go with the flow and create a masterpiece! You will learn as you progress.

Well I downloaded default gold A1200 skin theme section.I think it same as in E6.
I want to know how colors of png file in .skn are changed? i mean each of the item in png file?

Also in iconrec file if i didn't changed the icons of some items then should i delete that icons?

I know very little on this subject but ill take a shot at it.

1.To edit the .skn i would use paint.net it very easy to use for making edits to the .skn. (if you are new to creating themes look at a few .skn .png files to see how the format needs to be,cause wrong moves with the .skn will brick your phone an have to flash it to get it back to normal) use the hue option in paint.net or CS3 which ever program your using to change the color.

2.Iconres files have alot of icons an i would not delete any icons since there parts of your phone an the theme still needs an looks for those icons. A theme is not complete till all those icons are changed,so take your time an try to edit as many icons as you can.

is changing hue is only way to chane the colour?
the positions of all icons in png file are going to same by using hue option so it is safe(will not brick phone) am i right?

Well hue should be the only thing you need to use for a color change unless its black but CS3 has a hue option wich allows you to add color to black. What is it your trying to do? If you look around the theme section you will find .skn .png files loaded on site already.
