I use PocketDVD studio ( i got it for my PDA) to rip the DVD into an .avi file, then convert that to RM using MotoEzXVP, it is quite acceptable but you need at least 128 mb sd card (256 is better). I have converted a couple of music videos and the sound quality is great.

DVD -> Use MPEG4 Direct Maker to convert to MPG -> Use eplayer to watch
    or
DVD -> Use MPEG4 Direct Maker to convert to MPG -> Use MotoEzXVP to convert to RM -> Use RealPlayer to watch

RM is ok. Some glitches in the beginning of the movie. Rest is ok. I mean, it's not as excellent as watching MPG. RM is more efficient (small file size).
Development of EZX-SysInfo / SysEdit application is completed! Version 0.1 Beta 2 is out. Check out in 'Bounty Projects' forum.

of course RM will be smaller, it has half the frames at most to begin with.
and though MP4 can be played on Real Player it's more limited as far as bitrates go (though for a cartoon it doesn't matter one bit).
