    currently the only solution is, to build your own kernel with the zaurus USB Driver enabled, but if there is a kernel update in the apt-reposetoriey you will loose the driver supporrt ... or use a Feisty live cd or VM, xen oder virtual box should work ...

    Does this problem still exists in Hardy (8.04)?

    Can I use Internet thru E6 (adv GPRS) using USBPPP?

    Yes, the problem (no "zaurus" kernel module) still exists in Ubuntu Hardy.
    But there is an "easy way" (no need to compile a whole new kernel) to solve it:

    This is a well know issue on ubuntu for ages, i droped ubuntu some time ago and went back to debian and guess what, plug & play phone :P
