Most iPhone game developers are leveraging the iPhone and iPod touch’s multi-touch and accelerometer capabilities to create unique and compelling experiences for gamers, but Social Gaming Network (SGN) has taken it a step further. The company’s three iPhone titles includes iGolf, iBowl and iPhone, and they’re free to download and play from the App Store.
The games all use fairly simple — even rudimentary — graphics, but they heavily leverage the iPhone’s accelerometer to provide immersive action for iPhone and iPod touch gaming enthusiasts. With iGolf, you pick a club, find a hole on a course (or go to a driving range), and swing using a realistic motion.
iBowl follows a similar motif — you swing your iPhone or iPod touch to throw a ball down a lane towards ten pins, knocking over as many as you can.
And the newest game, iBaseball, lets you play an inning of baseball as the pitcher and a hitter (must be the National League, then). You can pitch to three batters with either a fastball or curveball, then you can try for as many hits as you can in a single inning.
More.
