How to Jailbreak and unlock iphone3g

Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me how to unlock iPhone3g with 04.01.13_G - the 1.1.1 firmware.

Ive never heard of an iPhone 3G with 1.1.1 firmware, that is an older version of the software, so Im pretty sure you are missing something. There is currently no software unlock available for the 3G iPhone, and there are mixed reports about things like 'Turbo Sim' and other sim card adapters working, and or causing problems.

Double check the firmware version in settings/general/about and let me know what it says.

Actually i dont have the phone now ... i am planning to get one from the US i stay in India ... so wanted to know if we can unlock and jailbreak it ... would it be possible ?

why not just buy one that is already unlocked?

but i would the same iphone3g for only 200$ right and another point is i stay in INDIA and i dont know anyone in Hong Kong ... so i cant get it from there ....

The unlocked 3G iphones selling in Hong Kong are starting at $700. I would be cautious buying one for $200. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. As of yet, there is still no 3rd party software unlock for the 3G iphone. So if you must have a 3G, you will need to get it from Hong Kong or get a Sim card adapter, which are a bit buggy.

Either wait for a decent unlock or get yourself a first gen iPhone. People seem to have less troubles with them.

can we use sim card of supported networks like airtel or vodafone, in an iphone bought from some other country, like from USA.
