I wanted to share my opinions on a few of the Free games available on the itunes app store.

First, and my favorite FREE game is 'Cube Runner'

This is a very simple 3D flight Sim style game using the accelerometer for steering. The object of the game is simply, dont hit the boxes . The graphics are plain, there is no sound, no power-ups, no lives, no acceleration/braking. BUT this game is just FUN! It comes with 3 level packs, and allows for Level packs to be downloaded and added.
For the price, this game is Perfect!

Next is Labyrinth Lite:

This is a free version of the full game that includes the first level pack. Labyrinth is the iPhone version of the classic Labyrinth game, The idea is to get the metal marble to the checkered hole while avoiding the other holes. This game uses the accelerometer to 'tilt' the game board rolling the marble around. I was surprised at how sensitive it really is. You truly feel like there is a marble on a board, its perfectly smooth.

New game:
X-Plane 9

A very nice 3D flight simulator for the iPhone
Great graphics and sounds, simple to use with the accelerometer.

Great options for clouds, weather, turbulence, time of day, and weight of planes.

4 different planes to choose from, and multiple flight views.

$9.99 on iTunes. I just got this today, and I do like it.

Animation is perfectly smooth, but the game itself needs some refinement. I tried to crash my plane into a mountain, and it just bounced off. Im sure there will be plenty of updates in the future.

Worth the $10 IMO.
