Default A810 Flasing tried and tested

    Complete Motorola A810 flashing guide

Disclaimer:Flashing the phone will void your warranty. I tried this and it worked perfectly for me.This is not my work I looked up chinese forums and some of vsvj's posts. Nobody had tried flashing the phone so I did.

I hope VSVJ and yan0 dont feel offended for me borrowing heavily from them.
And forgive me for the post it was hastily typed.

The first step is to modify the Usb cable. The usb cable provided with the phone cannot be used to flash the phone

Dont go about trying to modify the provided phone Usb cable trust me I tried rather buy one of these little usb to micro usb converters. It cost about Rs 20
Split the casing open with a blade. It isn't hard easily done under two minutes
Inside you will see four wires going from the usb connector to the micro usb connector
The male usb connector will have 4 pins the micro usb male connector will have 5 pins
The four pins of the usb connnector will be attached by the wires previously mentioned to the micro usb converter
Our aim is to connect the leftmost pin of male usb connector to the unconnected 5th pin of the miccro usb male connector
Try bending the 5th pin upwards its easy to solder that way .After soldering check to see if you have any short circuits

These are the components needed the end product will look like this

For further clarification download the guide by vsvj given below given below

    A810_Usb_guide_by_VSVJ.pdf - ImageHost.org

The needed software for flashing are
    Drivers.rar (1.5 MB)
And download the firmware file from here

Now attach the usb cable to the phone two things are important first phone should be switched off and the batteries should be removed.
If the batteries are not removed the phone will simply start to charge. So remove the batteries.

The screen of the phone will turn blue and a found new hardware dialog OMAP50 and then A810 will appear now Windows will ask whether it can connect online to install updates select no not this time and then click next
Select Install from a specific location and click next
Select dont search I will choose driver to install
Click have disk and choose the Moto modem drivers folder

Now again disconnect and attach the phone

The screen of the phone will turn blue and a found new hardware dialog OMAP50 alone will appear. Now windows will ask whether it can connect online to install updates select no not this time and then click next
Select Install from a specific location and click next
Select dont search I will choose driver to install
Click have disk and choose the Hailing drivers folder
Now if you look in the device manager you'll see a usbio device
    Now disconnect the phone again

Now extract the A810 firmware using winrar
Go into the folder you'll see 3 files the A810_94R_yan0.....bin, flasher_hs.exe and the flasher.ini dont edit the ini file
Now this is important start the flasher_hs.exe then reconnect your phone if u start the flasher_hs.exe after connecting your phone nothing will happen.
Once you connect the phone the phone will be automatically flashed.
Wait till progrees bar says finished or completed
It took about less than a minute but it may vary from computer to computer
Disconnect the phone attach your battery reboot and enjoy

Any problems feel free to contact me I'll try helping you

    Hey!

    I bought a Moto A810 3 days ago...
Very very disappointed with its restrictions....

Tried the above steps - modded the cable, downloaded the flashing stuff...
The phone's not going into flashing mode (no blue screen). After I take out the batteries, I connect it to the comp and Nothing at all..no "found new hardware" or anything..
The way I know that the cable works fine is by turning it on without the batteries...it turns on...

Please help getting it to the blue screen!!!

Pls elaborate the problem did you follow the above steps. Try making sure the cable is correctly modded you can do it by attaching the cable with the battery see if the phone starts charging. Try disconnecting and attaching it again

Cable works fine.. Phone does charge and connect as Memory card, etc..

But, when the phone's turned off and I connect the cable, nothing happens...
    I've tried many many times...
I even did it with two different cables...

After I turn off the phone and connect the cable, do I need to press any keys (On/off + camera button or something) to get the blue screen?

No dude you don't have to press any buttons. Here is what i did. I removed the battery the sim card and then attached the phone. I think i tried two or three times before geting it right. Another thing the phone is still under modification the ui that comes with the phone is really buggy but once you've flashed it. The problems disappear. Now that i've flashed my phone the battery lasts for 2.5 days with moderate usage.

    Thanks again..
