    Hi systdow666
Still the phone is in your hands? Please do a backup before flashing! ( Backups - OpenEZX ), you have a quite rare firmware/ phone, in this area of the world!!
But reading the guide to flashing, a sticky on the a1200 subforum, you have a method to switch to flash mode without pressing any key on the phone
You plug the phone (booted, and in any mode, i think) and basicly you click on "show device" on rsdlite... It will swich to MBM flash mode "automaticly" (an ioctl in the kernel set a flag in memory, so the phone reboot on flash mode).
Or maybe try motorola PST , i can't tell if it's RSD or PST...

If you can go in MBM flash mode, using that motorola automatic method, then you can probably follow the wiki guide here: Backups - OpenEZX ...
    basicely, on linux type:
    Code:
    #get the tools
    wget http://people.openezx.org/wyrm/gen-blob/gen-blob
    wget http://people.openezx.org/wyrm/boot_usb
    #initilalise the phone
    ./boot_usb setflag usb
    ./boot_usb gen-blob 0
#read (backup the whole flash mem)
    ./boot_usb read 0x0 0x3FFFFFFF <backup_file>
But maybe you should cut the firmware in some parts... So you can either reach me by mail, or here, or PM if you want to know the real partitionning of the flash, or cut at random places... Say each 16Megs (=0xFFFFFFF in hexa base), this will make easier to reflash partial firmware, or retry a failed backup (in case)...

So backup like this example, it is preferable:
    Code:
    ./boot_usb read 0x0 0xFFFFFFF backup_e895_1_0x0
    ./boot_usb read 0x10000000 0x1FFFFFFF backup_e895_2_0x10000000
    ./boot_usb read 0x20000000 0x2FFFFFFF backup_e895_3_0x20000000

    ./boot_usb read 0x30000000 0x3FFFFFFF backup_e895_4_0x30000000
Of course, if you want to mod into the jffs2, and cramfs codegroups (partitions), you need the real partitionning... (i can help you to extract and recover it)

Oh, and when you ae in MBM mode, could you tell me the writings on it ?
I suspect the e895 codename is "barbados" but i'm not sure, and usually the MBM mode write this
    Sorry, i'm very curious
ps if you have some difficulties (segfaults with bootusb, i could send you another one...)
