-n flag - set romfs name
    -n 'Compressed ROMFS'

if you in the same directory with rights file you don't need complete path, only filename, else you need path.

    mkcramfs -c -n 'Compressed ROMFS' /home/cg34 new34 <rights filename>
quots is needed when title contains spaces!

And I flashed my phone again (must be about 15 times now).

Doing mkcramfs cygwin showed: cannot find rightsfile for ..... use default, and listed every single file in the cg folder, Hmm

I flashed it anyway and preload apps still don't run

Ok, next try, added path to rights file e voila, only my added ringtones where listed to have no rights file but that shouldn't be a problem, I hope (why didn't I try before flashing?).

    flashed..
Started my phone and picsel viewer, help and flash player are running!

It was the rights that were missing, that is clear now. I should have heared to your words bOOster when you where writing about trouble using different mkcramfs without rights file. Ok, I've learned a lot, thank you bOOster!

Now I have to edit some of my former posts describing cygwin commands. But first reconfigure my phone

mischka hehe.. glad to see you success..

Sometimes, i don't know when - unix symbolic or hard links gets damage on cygwin - becouse windows don't have such file types..

about yours new files in packet (not important): take a look on any file with same type (music or something else) extracted from original packet and in directory where you want put new files . Open rights file in any text editor. Find that file by name and directory.Duplicate that string and change filename to yours new one in new string. Symbol case is IMPORTANT.. if you add file something like IcoN.mp3 - rights file must contain same string with .../.../IconN.mp3 bla bla bla.

total: on pure unix system we can use standart mkcramfs, but if you use cygwin - you need mkcramfs with rights file.

Ok, I edited the posts where the commands for Cygwin are discribed. Following this, there should be no problem.
If something is not clear to understand, just ask.

I also uploaded my modified CG files in the download area of this forum. Anyone who is interested in german keyboard and some other little changes (or only want to see if this really works) can save time and download

    http://motorolafans.com/index.php?na...details&id=452

they are from generic 46p because for now this is my favorit firmware.

Ok.. there is GOOD news, analyzing of 532L4 firmware -
This is original (not china mobile) european firmware only! No chinese language..
    1. L4 index - this is number of European locales in firmware with dedicated keyboards and .kbd files,iTap dict, voice recognition and user interface!!!
Now i see - french, english_emea,portuguese and spanish locales!!

and now we can make dedicated keyboards for 4 locales in any firmware, i think... Working on that. Trying russian on 59P.

    bOOster,
have you tried to change only the complete language folder from spanish fw to chinese/english CGs and see what happens? As a first step.
For russian keyboard you then could choose which keyboard you want to change (if it works though )

Looking in iconres.ezx from spanish Ming I see the same pics as in mine. And there are only 25 additional pics that have nothing to do with inputmethods (realplayer, phonebook, calendar, etc) and one missing. And keyboard gifs look just the same!

The only interesting difference I can see, are the libs in language folder and of course VR and itap.
Oh I forgot: fonts file is dramaticaly small, surely has to be replaced too!

If you didn't try yet, maybe I'll try after weekend

Only half luck with keyboard until now:

Changed the language folder to that from spanish fw and have no additional keyboard. But its no longer the qwerty_PRC.kbd but the qwerty.kbd.
So it's not english_cn keyboard but english_emea keyboard. On this one there is the "äü" key on the bottom right and it works. Taping this key brings up another layout with special latin characters (plus shift = two more layouts).Still better than nothing.

    Oh, and no pinyen stuff.

    But better luck with GUI:

I have now 46p with english, spanish, portugese and french GUI. All working!
Plus english, spanish and portugese VR. Working too!

then I kicked out the chinese ones.I can't read them anyway

    Hi bOOster,
    Happy new year!

good news: Integrating in sbf file is no problem now

    And even better:
We can have four and more keybords to choose from in one mod version. We can change language names and even add some by adding a fake language folder in string folder containing a readme.cfg file with language name. This will be displayed in setup!

Now I have english, french, german, portuguese, and spanish to choose from. For german of course there are no language files for GUI but system uses english in this case. This might be verry interesting for you?

does SBF integration you make with some software? If yes - share please.
I don't want to 'research a bicycle' and have no time to that.
Becouse my method of integration for now is difficult and takes many time..

Else if you have only 'exe' tool for CRC16 checksumming can you ask for C/C++ sources from man you got this tool? I am working on Mac and want to port it. I am bit lazy and lack of time for now to write complete tool.
i know that is now difficult.

and i see - someone ask you about volume increase? Do you want to integrate this ability to you future firmware?
