You could try software like Ezxcodec (last version 1.3.5) to "expand" a regular firmware you want to base your work on. This soft can rebuild the firmwae also, after your work is finished, but you need some linux skills to understand how-to do things... (mount a SD card, create a device node, create a symlink<- symbolic lynk <- shortcut, create a shell script...)
Here you can download this tool : EZX phone tools by Rocket

Another popular tool is "desbf". I also know Sbf-recalc.
Also, you will notice during your researchs that there are differents version of softwares (especially the librarys) for the same phone's firmwares versions.
--->>Simply expand the last Amin's firmware should suffice to have the last versions of the good libs!!
you can also see if some apps work, or not, with what firmware, in some user's reports or in your tests.
Every question in that area is more on an "amin's question"!! lol
...
Perhaps you could work more confortably in a linux station. ImaHotGuy wrote a tutorial http://www.motorolafans.com/forums/f...tents-cgs.html .
Good luck.
