Some questions about firmware development

Anyone know how to insert new programs into firmware and display them in the application menu?

I've managed to insert additional programs into CG34/preloadapps/qtapps/ but I do not know how to display them. I've modified the sysregistry files in both CG34 and 43. Is there anywhere else I have to modify?
