Allright ppl, Im gonna give this gaintable a try now that I am free. I am fed up of people not being able to hear me well when I call. When I call long distance sometimes they cant hear me at all and I have to go on speaker just to make myself audible. I dont see myself using a bluetooth headset. It'll just add another thing for me to carry around. If I cant improve the volume on this phone then I'm gonna sell it! the first function of a phone is work as one. The rest of the things are great. I love the entertainment capabilities but if the phone cant funciton as a phone properly then I'd rather buy a PSP!

Are you using the included (wired) headphones or the built in microphone? Is the problem the same with both?

And I know this is perhaps a silly suggestion; but on which side of your head are you holding the phone? The built in microphone is in the lower left corder of the handset, so I guess it is designed to be held on the left side of the head when speaking...

The built in microhpone. As I said I dont want to be carrying around "accessories" to get my phone to work.

Since the micrphone is in the lower left corner should you use your right ear for more clarity?

No, left ear. I think the microphone should get as low as possible to get as close to your mouth as it can. But don't take my word for it, try both and see what the person in the other end thinks sounds "best".

And you really should try with the wired headphones; if that works good you can at least rule out that it is a problem with the carrier etc.

Used left ear same thing. The wired headphones work ok. So its something to do with the internal microphone...

Okay; I guess then it can be the microphone that is broken. I mean, if you really have tried all "possible" ways of holding it (having the microphone more near or more far from your mouth). And if you are careful so that you not cover the microphone somehow with fingers or by pressing it against your head. (Sorry if I'm being silly, I'm just trying to think of all possible problems).

I've had this problem ever since I got the phone, with the old E680 firmware and the new E680i firmwares too. Same thing.
