I red that from e680 to e680i the sync mechanism changed so that the program came with the e680 does not work anymore. With e680i you (windows user) have to use MPT instead.
Syncing the e680 with linux is not possible but is there a way to do it with e680i?
I saw here a lot of people here using linux on there desktop. Noone of them needs to to sync?![]()
A true linux user would set up an rsync script.![]()
check out www.scheduleworld.com I've had some trouble with it but they're working to fix it. Basically they have a free sync4j service that you sync to and you can then use the calendar via HTTP in things like evolution and mozilla subird, and LDAP access for your contacts.
Seems to work pretty well. it's how I backed up my contacts before flashing from e680 to e680i. Calendar seems a bit problematic but I don't know if that's e680-side or scheduleworld side.
as i understand this will always go between phone and a service at the internet via WAP and then between desktop pc and the same service. Right?
You really trust all these services?
i would prefer to sync without a third instance...
