hmm.. so far i know you need the kernel 2.6.12 version or higher to telnet in the e680i.
My E680i cannot telnet under Linux, but it is ok under Win2k.
I have configured usb0 successfully and disabled the firewall.
# ifconfig usb0
usb0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 1E:49:53:34:C3:AB

# telnet 192.168.1.2
Trying 192.168.1.2...
telnet: connect to address 192.168.1.2: No route to host
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: No route to host
I do not know whether it is right? My Linux is RedHat AS4, 2.6.9
Sorry for my poor English, Thank you much for any reply.

i have another laptop computer with ubuntu linux and tried to use Telnet to my e680i, it works so far but very slow and on the SD card i can not see the files. ubuntu just tells that it can not show all files from the SD card to the ubuntu file manager. really there does not show anything.
i can see the files from the interntal e680i memory but not from the card.
on suse 10.0 i do not have this problem.

it should work on the suse 10.1 too.. maybe try with smb://192.168.1.2
i installed suse 10.0 and 10.2(i havt tried out 10.1) on that thosiba labtop with nvidia card it just gives 800x600res on the screen and can not be changed to 1024x768res -thats why i have to use another linux distro so i use ubuntu and it works good so far exept telnet not want so like on suse.
