    Default POP3/IMAP “Host Not Found”

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and just got the e680i a few days ago. I have most of it figured out but I am still a nube to this phone so don’t beat me up please. I live in the US and my service provider is T-Mobile.

    My question/problem is….
I want to use the e680i email client, so I go to email and set up a new mail box. After that I tap send/receive and it connects to the server, but then it won’t connect to the POP3 address, it just says “host not found.”

I have tried several different IMAP and POP3 email sites such as gmail, yahoo.uk, and bluebottle but none of them work, I always get the same “host not found” error no matter what I try. Also I have double and triple checked to make sure I have entered all the information like server name and ports correct, so that does not seem to be the problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem? I thought it might have something to do with the SSL settings but I cannot find them or any documentation in the user manual to help me locate them. Can anyone help with this please?!?!

You need to get the internet settings for your GPRS. What most people get is the WAP settings. That's why it's not working.

You'll have to ask your opreator for those internet settings.

I had my service provider send me the settings for the GPRS, but when I go to “connection setup” in the mailbox options the new connection my service provider sent does not show in the list of available connections. Any thoughts as to how I can get the connection to show? Thanks

Hey i got it!! I had T-Mobile send me the settings but they didn't show up. The reason was because my "internet profiles" were full, as soon as i deleated an unused one, it showed up on the list. So i set everything up for yahoo uk email, but now the dumb thing says "password error." Any more thoughts??
