before syncing, my time zone was incorrect. i then synced my phone book and calendar.

after changing the time zone:

- the birthdays in the phone book are shifted by one day.

so please set the correct time zone before syncing.

at least now the phone book has the option to sort by last name.

when creating calendar entries using mobile phone tools, be carefull using "all day" and alarm. i set an alarm to one day before and as result the alarrm was set to 6am the day before.

it is possible to create entries in the calendar (on the phone) starting at 8:00 am and ending at 8:00 am but these are never shown in the calendar.

since i am really pissed by the calendar handling (which is somewhat identical to e680), possibly you could help me.

is there any known method to be alarmed if someone's birthday (phone book) is near?

creating annuallly repeated calendar entiries seemed to be a workaround for me but the handling with mobile phone tools is ugly.

at least the calendar has a new feature: you can set the start of the week e.g. to monday.

also the email handling is fine: imap is supported now and the size limit can be adjusted in wider range.

still a few questions left:

1) might there be a chance to poll emails - say every hour?
2) might there be a chance to let the led blink another color if messages are available?
3) might there be a chance to change the layout of the english keyboard in order to get other characters such as "umlauts" e.g. (äöüß) ?
4) is there someone who has a idea which voice recognition or text to speech engine is used -- so other languages might be found on the internet? i saw some italian version in the direcory structure.

i'm working on it. if i find a solution, i'll inform you.

this thread seems to be a bit unordered. i had no intention to create seperate threads for each of the points annoying me. sorry for that.
