change the file name "acmattach.txt" in folder /diska to "searchb4ask.lin" and do as usual!it works gr8 4 me!
Hi,
I have just updated firmware of my E680i and the sysinfo snapshot is as follows:
Before update, I was able to connect in USB mass storage mode and both phone and SD memories were seen as removable drives. But after the update, now the connection is always in USB Lan mode whatever the setting is configured from the setup menu. Now I can reach the phone memory as a network connection named sth like "Samba 2.0.7 (169.254.142.2)" but I need direct access to the memory card to transfer big movie files. I tried to install USBMode but nothing changed. Is this normal or any problems occured in my update process?
Maybe this can be possible over telnet but it is so far from practical. Also I used to use my phone as a flash disk for transfering files from my office to home. Any possibility to go back to the good old "mass storage" days?

Thanks, it works. But when and why do I need "acmattach.txt" i.e. USBLan mode?
acmattach.txt will make your phone always run in USBLan even you set it to Storage mode.
You don't need it if you don't use telnet into the phone. If you need to telnet, just tap searchb4ask.lin.
usblan mode is useful for samba and telnetting (which can be used for backing up your contacts and messages in case of something going wrong with the phone and you need to flash it, and for flashing individual CG's using flashkit)
