I don't think you *can* install linloader on an unhacked c5 firmware without a memory card. The file you need to edit to install it on the phone's own memory is not accessible through the usb-storage mode. To get linloader installed on the phone's own memory you *first* have to install linloader using a card. Then either activate telnet or use lin-scripts to install it on phone memory. The "PlugcardDB" for the phones own memory is actually called "InstalledDB" and resides here:
    Code:
      /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/am/InstalledDB
    (if memory serves me right)

i've installed the LinLoader after flashin to a4p full.
after that, i reflashed with the a4p with the CG35...

now i got 2 AppName (LinLoader) and 1 mkpg.
Is that correct? Now my telnet and USBLan could not work..
Do i need to reflash again?

The CG35 should be copied over when they "erasing ..." rite?
    Thanks.

cg35 will preload the linloader. that explains why now you have 2 linloaders. remove the one in your sd by removing the entries that you edited in PlugCardDB and remove the loader folder in QTDownLoad, then restart

what method did you use to telnet in?

    i'm using the usblan method.
after reflashin, they never prompt me for belacarra driver anymore.

Uhm, is there a mtf installer for linloader? Where?

In fact, where can I find info on how mtf files work? Seems to be a great way of provinding a user-friendly bootstrap for an installer. I'm thinking about creating something a little more flexible and userfriendly than mpkg.

there isnt, but it is possible. .mtf's (motorola theme files) are just renamed .tar.gz files. So it cant get easier then mpkg, since with mtf you either have to overwrite the installeddb or plugcarddb (or instremovabledb), while mpkg just adds an entry for the app its installing instead of overwriting the whole thing.
Yes, but does it run Linux?

yup max explained it mtf is a renamed gzipped archive

if i were to use mtf to install linloader, i would
    1. use fresh flashed installedDB to get a safe appid, ie something that doesnt clash with other app.
    2. set up the folders on a pc eg.
    $HOME/ezxlocal/download/appwrite/am/InstalledDB
    $HOME/diska/.system/QTDownLoad/loader
    3. put those lin_loader, loader.png etc into loader folder
    4. gzip it up: cd $HOME; tar -zcvf linloader_install.gz ezxlocal/ diska/
    5. rename it to .mtf, send to phone and tap

InstalledDB have to be edited to add references for linloader of course

So mtf:s are just unpacked in the root directory of the phone?
Okay, that is good for us, since we can use it to "hack", but it really is a horrible design for exchangning themes... I mean, anything could happen to your phone when you install a new theme...

However, the interesting thing to ask is: can we somehow use mtf to upload a script that the user easily can execute (without needing linloader). And without data loss (like writing over the whole InstallDB). It *might* be possible.
