Default how to free cache memory?

my friend and i tried to transfer file from his cellphone to mine using bluetooth with a file size of 6MB. My phone memory has 10MB left and my MMC have 264MB left. when i tap the recieve button to start the transfer it responded "sending failed, memory full". how come it became memory full.

when i check on my memory using ezxsysinfo it says my cache memory is 24MB and my free memory is only 1.2MB.

how can i free the cache memory since based on the description it is not being used by any apps but it is still not being freed?

any developer, moderator or any knowledgable people here please help me.

or you can try a hard reboot (turn off phone, then turn the phone back on)

don't know about the cache memory but I have transferred files over bluetooth up to 30MB if I remember correctly (I just finished transferring a 20MB file)

As far as transferring files over bluetooth goes the free memory on your memory card is irrelevant. What matters is the amount of free space on your phone's (diska) memory. Though in your case you do have enough.

Ask yourself what could be eating up your cache, what programs you have running, what programs start with the phone, what scripts you have running in the background which might not show up on task manager, etc.

    Now here are my settings:
ABP unbranded, no startup scripts, 64MB swap (this could most likely have a lot to do with things), 35MB free phone memory

thanks, tarwin. now that you have mentioned it i think gaixixon mca's been eating up the cache or the start-up sound. i'll try to fix it. will tell you what happened.

the start-up sound shouldn't affect it, it's not an ongoing script, the missed call alert could be the culprit though (haven't used it so can't comment on it that much)

i disabled MCA but only managed to free 1MB of cache memory. Still 20MB oc cache memory needs to be freed.

    @tarwin
what other apps do you think causing this problem?

sometimes even closing anapp won't fix the problem, there'll sometimes be a memory leak or other glitches.

what do you normally use? (not just what you have running constantly, but what apps do you normally use over the course of a normal day?)

and have you tried swap? it can work wonders

the MPKG apps that i usually use is ezxemulator, fbreader, ezxeditor, theme manager and ezxplayer. Most of the time i play with .jar games fruitstorm, word craze and absolute minesweeper.

i did not tried swap before. now that you mentioned it can you brief me on how to use it and its advantages. thanks tarwin.
