and they look much much more simpler yet powerful and straight-to-da-point
heres my initial findings:
1. ThemeBackgroundPicture is not used anymore. in menus, wallpaper is used but lightened, ie transparency increased.
2. ThemeWallpaperFile is not always inherited into ezx_theme.cfg. maybe because in setup, theres a wallpaper option.
3. new skin file .skn is required. those icons in .skn supercede those in iconres.ezx eg. Call_Keypad_Keybk. it will no longer use the Call_Keypad_keybk in iconres.ezx but instead use the one in .skn. this .skn is much simpler to build. all the icons in .skn must be used. i tried removing some icons from skn, and wierd things came up in the phoneWARNING! improper .skn files will not load the ui, ie when restarting phone, it will hang at the motorola logo. but you can still telnet in tho.
4. new fields ThemeSkinFile, the .skn, and ThemeLogoIcon, a jpeg. since the theme manager use pictures instead of names, ThemeLogoIcon gives the user an idea what the theme will look like.
5. a780 doesnt have .mtf, but if linloader is installed, it can be used to install the theme.
6. there is no option to uninstall the theme, but an uninstaller can easily be created using linloader
overall, imho, the e680i/a780 ui is much much nicer than the e680. the home screen icons, just like windows quick launch, are very very useful. and the way the icons are grouped is also nice.

this is a slight mod of luckydip's macosx theme, my favourite btw

if anybody is interested in testing out the theme, its in the download section.
and for a780 users, theres a theme installer at downloads also. requires linloader tho.
Did you experience any problems with the transparency of backgrounds? Or, more precise, backgrounds without transparency? If I uncheck the transparency option, my background disappears and turns into solid white.
Does anyone know where i can go to purchase the new e680i for a good price in the united states?
You'll have a much better chance to get a decent answer if you post a new topic. No one's going to read it here, because they'll only be interested in the themes.Originally Posted by bigdrenaz
