Default Restore of native.db problem (contacts)

I have just flashed my phone to C5.AEP. I copied the /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/* files to my mmc card before flashing the phone.

The three files backed up were
    native.db 1777kb
    native_id.db 2kb
    log0000000595 43kb

Once the phone had been flashed I then copied the phone back. Owner is exy with RW access to all files.
The problem is that I still cannot see my contacts. When I try to goto sms I just get the message "Waiting for database" with a hide button. When I access contacts I get nothing.

    Please help.

My main concern is my contacts. In which file are these stored in?
    SMS's I don't really care about.

I got caught out with earlier firmware when only some of the data was synced. Flashed the phone and synced back and bam. Heaps of missing data. Mainly information inside contacts. In the past I have just backed up by coping the native.db files. Its just this time the C5AEP can't re-open the files.

No major disaster thou. Will survive.

Don't they say the only Guaranteed backup is to have an infinite number of copies
