After flashing E680i.....

yesterday, nothing to in office, decided to give my E680 a flash.
took about 15 mins to complete.

-interface looks good, phone lags only when you change the color scheme, but after awhile, it will be ok.

-Alot of Games included, all Java app or games only allow to play 2 times, after that must pay.

-no more themes, only 3 built in color scheme.

-come with phone lock, but in lock mode, if accident touch the power off button, it will switch off without any prompt.

-bluetooth, think the same, can't find any new services, doubt can support listening to music through bluetooth headset.

-caller pic id staill as small, thought it will become bigger.

-group contact no longer can specify ringtone, but extend to each contact

things to be customized, anyone can help?
-the home screen, remove the china mobile shortcut
-install linloader, tried but seems cannot work
-remove operator logo in the home screen
-change the startup and shutdown gif, too redish for me
-hope we can have more color scheme like E680 theme
-camera sound cannot be removed after editing ezx_camera.cfg

camera sound can be reoved...try editing to 100 instead of 8...

So other than the better UI, does the new firmware improve voice quality or other reliability? If not, Im wondering whether I flashing to E680i is worth it or not. The games are locked and nothing really has improved.

some problem solved

- lin loader can be installed, however placing icon in folder seems cannot work, must save the lin file in folder and click it manually instead of program icon. seems like the same problem when we installed the lin_loader version 1 for E680

- camera no sound by clicking the lin itself, change to 9 instead of 8 works

improvement wise, dunno whether my eyes are playing tricks on me or not, I noticed that the pictures now taken are not so redish compare to E680 firmware, anyone else notice?

for linloader:
put the folder in /diska/.system/QTDownLoad <- as per e680
edit /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/am/InstalledDB <- as per e680
restart phone
put a test lin in diska -> tap and hold -> open with -> linloader -> always open program <- check the box, very important!!!
click ok
this of course doesnt work as we found out, but it is required to make linloader always appear in "open with" list.
now edit InstalledDB again, this time change Type to 1.
restart phone.
click the test lin. now it works!!

if you didnt check the always open program, when you change to Type = 1, lin loader will NOT appear in "open with " list.

by the way I found another problem in the E680 phone book
say you got one contact person A is 912345678
but when I received SMS from person A is +65912345678 and the phone dun actually show person A, but from +65912345678

Anyway to overcome this? I think I saw some discussion, but can't find it

on my previous e398, seem editing will do the trick. but i tried on the e680i, doesnt work does this happened on the a780 also? if not, then we can try using a780's seem file.

lin loader will work only if Type = 1. but if you set Type = 1, it will not show in the "open with" list. to make it appear in the list, you have to set Type = 4. this will make it appear. but it wont work,ie nothing will happen. then select open with -> lin loader. and check always open program. this way linloader is stucked in the list even after changing Type = 1

Any improvements to bettery life or reception? If not, I think I'll stick with the origional e680.
