'p' (pause) on E680i don't work?!

I found that 'p' (ie.pause) in a tel.no. on E680i don't work as expected.

Say I have an tel.no XXXXpYYY. Typically, the phone will dial XXXX, pause, then dial YYY. On my flashed E680i however, the phone will dial XXXX, then stop. The same tel.no. worked previously on my E680, as well as on other phones

I have tried the following:
XXXXppYYY ## don't work
XXXXpppYYY ## don't work
XXXXppppYYY ## don't work
XXXXwYYY ## works (unsatisfactory)

Substituting 'p' with 'w' (wait) works but I have to acknowledge okay for each numeric string that follows a 'w'. This is irritaing as well as dangerous especially when driving.

Anyone have the same experience? Any workaround?

mine works! i have my voicemail number as xxxxpyyyy where yyyy is my password. it dial xxxx, then pause, and then send yyyy. it works just like before flashing.
