Why doesn't work ping yahoo on telnet?

after i put the 'route cmd' in the /mmc/mmca1!!!

telnet 169.254.142.2
/mmc/mmca1/route add default gw 169.254.142.1

ping 209.131.36.158 (work)

ping www.yahoo.com (failed)

then.. we need DNS apps to resolve the name?

Duno samnet if there is DNS apps available, maybe some members have it.. but you need DNS to resolve the name.

I set up the DNS Server?
My Window is Window XP Pro , But No DNS Server!

I ping that www.yahoo.com can resolve the name in the computer.
But ping that can't resolve the name in the E680i.

vi resolv.conf

add a line in this file

nameserver XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX

save

and that is ok
