Copy the ezx_idle.cfg file as shown in the thread linked above or if you have eKonsole you can just do
cp /ezx_user/download/appwrite/setup/ezx_idle.cfg /mmc/mmca1/

This will copy the file to the root of your SD card. you can then connect to your phone in USB mode and modify the file using a unix compatible editor like textpad. The entries for the first two shortcuts will look like this.

shortcut_1_freeze = 1

Change the Shortcut_#_freeze flag to 0 from 1. This will unfreeze the shortcuts and allow you to change them from the setup whenever you like. It's that simple.
