I'm trying to connect my Motorola e680g (running Linux Mobile) to my laptop running Mandriva 2008 with KDE 3.5 and KMobileTools. Handset is connected to computer via USB cable, for I have no bluetooth devices on laptop. ttyACM0 is being recognized by system with no problem, but the thing I'm stumbling up on is permissions wizard alerting that I have to set permission on writing to /var/lock/. Nothing actually can be changed in that wizard, so after closing and being alerted to logout and login again in order the settings to be applied, I do so and face the same situation as it was before logout. If I skip the permission wizard, the device is being (partialy) recognized as ttyACM0, but handset configuring wizard is not satisfied with that, so there are no devices in the list of ones to choose from...
I used my Motorola with laptop at full extension of functionality provided with former through MobilePhoneTools under Windows, and now I need an advice on how to reproduce that under Mandriva, which is, sorry for off-topic, has been running VERY good so far (6 months to be precise).
I will appreciate very much a detailed instruction on setting a GPRS connection either from Konsole or using a wizard in any program supported with provided hardware, which is basically limited to USB cable. Doing more than just using my handset for connecting to Internet would be simply great.
