    Default sd card no no

don't lick an sd card for better conductivity
and then insert it into the sdcard slot on the phone
this will not only ruin the sdcard but also the phone's slot
anyone know where to find a System 5 manual for my HP 9000 ...

    no joke ...
licking usually fixes bad connections as far as i can tell.
its kind of like kicking the tv, only partially bad.
but umm as far as symptomology

phone no longer detects any cards.
upon putting the licked card in
it got hot over like a couple minutes
    so kind of slow.
no option to to format or anything.
used the usb style ultraII 1gb
    and the generic 1gb sandisk
to test with no detection on either.

I think i'll probably just turn the phone into RMA for a trade.

If you want to improve the connectivity, use a rough pencil eraser on the contacts of the SD card. Mostly it's grime or slight oxidation that causes bad contact.

You can use the same technique with any contact problem (like battery contacts).
